Your Life Is Your Brand
Almost 75% of the first impression you make on others is subconscious and nearly irreversible. Your sophistication, education, family, wealth, and moral integrity are instantly evaluated and critiqued. And it’s all subliminal. This knowledge can open doors for you - and striking jewelry can start conversations, create a center of attention, and make you memorable.
We're almost twins, but I'm the taller one! Bo Derek and I are wearing my dinosaur necklaces. Hers will be auctioned later.
Gold Flatters Everyone
Throughout history, gold has been the most coveted metal in the world, both for its inherent beauty and for prestige branding. I prefer gold over silver. Gold is warm, flattering, and luxurious – and it never needs polishing. When Marjorie Merriweather Post was building Mar-a-Lago in the 1920's, she ordered all the fixtures to be gold-plated because gold is the easiest metal to clean. It's also a reliable investment. I only work with 24 karat gold, which is the purest and softest form. I plate it heavily over all my lower-karat pieces (12k, 14k, and 18k) and over sterling (.925 silver content) and Hill tribe silver (.999 pure silver) to make vermeil (vair-MAY). Since colonial times the best plating in this country is still done in Rhode Island. My plating company works with the Smithsonian, the Sultan of Brunei, and American Express® – all those Gold Cards!
Expect The Exceptional
Behind The Glamour In Branding
Behind the glamour it’s all about dirt, tarnish, and drilling. Stones must be sorted, repaired, cleaned, drilled – under water to keep them from shattering – and then polished. Metals must be cut, shaped, welded, polished – tarnish is not your friend – then drilled, and finally gold plated. Designs that look superb on paper may need many revisions to be comfortably worn. But the final result can be a breathtaking work of art.
